Generation Love by New Breed

New Breed has released their 3rd cd: Generation Love. I mentioned on The PeachPost that they would have a release this year according to Israel's blog. I just didn't know when to expect it. I will put my order in today and let you know how it is.

Purchase your copy!!!!

Just in case you haven't heard New Breed here is a link their cds.:

Listen to Kingdom
Listen to Freedom

***Update:  I received my cd in the mail but I haven't had the chance to really listen to it.  I did notice that they used different members for this recording. The only member that I recognized from the previous recordings was Daniel Johnson, whose vocals are amazing as always.

Back In the Day: Witness

I used to sing in a group when I was younger and we used to do songs by Witness, Anointed Adoration N Prayze and other groups. I don't know how the conversation came about, but my brother mentioned something about the group and ever since then I have been reminiscing about songs that we used to sing.

One of the songs that we loved was "Standard" by Witness. This song is timeless. Take a listen and enjoy the ministry of Witness.

Back in the Day: Anointed "The Call"

Anointed's "The Call" was just re-released in the digital world. I was really surprised to see that. I was looking for new music and then I see Anointed listed and it brought back so many memories of me singing when I was younger. If you have Itunes, you can download this album there.

Leah Smith

Former New Breed Singer, Leah Smith, is one to watch. I remember hearing buzz about Leah a few years ago when I bought the Kingdom album by Sound of the New Breed. She is really an awesome singer. If I had to describe her music, I would say that she was an anointed version of Amel Larrieux. Check out Leah's myspace page.

Vickie Winans - New Single

Vickie Winans breaks out with new single "How I Got Over". I would describe it as "Tra-Temporary" as a Youtube user calls it. Tra-temporary is traditional with a contemporary flavor.

Larry Trotter - I Still Believe

Larry Trotter and SHS are the voices in the song "Don't Last". His latest release is I Still Believe and seems to be good down home gospel choir music. Every now and then you need a good gospel choir cd that takes you back and make you reminisce about the old school church.

New Releases

Releases from 7/29/09

Earnest Pugh - Rain On Us
I really like this song. Who doesn't want the spirit of the Lord to shower down on them? It's a powerful song that really ushers in the Holy Spirit. "Rain On Us" is the title track for Pugh's newly released album. This track is also featured on the Kerry Douglas Gospel Mix, Volume III.
Album Snippets

Papa Sun - Ina the Ghettio
This is my first time listening to Papa San and I like this track. It's sampled from "Ain't No Sunshine." It has a nice caribbean flava. This is the first single for the new album Higher Heights. Album Snippets

Melinda Watts - So Good
Melinda Watts is the winner of Gospel Dreams 2008. I didn't really watch the show, but what I do know about Melinda is that she blew people away at her wedding when she sang to her husband. It was so sweet - take a look at "Dreams Come True."

Back in the Day: Adoration N Prayze

My brother reminded me of this song that I used to sing around the house when I was younger. It took me way back. The song was from Adoration N Prayze, a female gospel group. They were sanging!!!! Take a listen.

Canton Jones - Password

My husband and I first heard this song on the Coko Brother Sunday morning show and it has become one of our favorites. The words are so simple and it has a nice little beat to it. Basically it just lifts up the name of Jesus. There is no other name higher than Jesus. Hallelujah! Yeah!

Finding Mali

I was very impressed by the artist Mali Music (Jamaal Pollard) so I just had to get his new cd which was released on 7/14/09. I thought by chance it may be at Target, but it wasn’t. Then I went to the Christian bookstore and no Mali. I thought about buying it online, but I wanted to have the cd that day. So on Friday I looked online and saw that it was in stock at my local Best Buy store. I got to Best Buy and I looked for it, the sales associates looked for it, but no Mali. One guy recommended that I try Barnes and Nobles and I did. At last, I found Mali, yea!!!!!!

Shei Atkins - Praise My Way Out

Shei Atkins takes it back with her single "Praise My Way Out." This song is not new, it was actually released in 2007, but it still has a powerful message about having faith in God to get you out of a situation. It's upbeat with a taste of old school and it's definitely worth a listen.

New Releases - 7/14/09

This is past due, I know I know - but I've included a few snippets so that you can get a feel of how these new projects will sound.

Coko Clemons- Winner In Me
This is a great cd. I listened to few clips on ITunes and I thought that all of the snippets were great. I decided to make the purchase and I am not disappointed.

Claude Deuce -The Young Elder

Dr. Jeff Jacobs - He's Just Alright

Coco McMillan - I've Been Delivered

Mali Music - The 2nd Coming
I was a little disappointed that I couldn't find this in a store, because his music is so amazing.

Simple Song

I was searching for music for my church choir and I came across "Our Father, You Are Holy" by Ricky Dillard & New G. This song is so powerful and the message is so simple - Bless the name of the Lord because he is holy. The praise team got to the song before I was able to introduce it to the choir, but that's okay. The song is great. Add to your worship mix.

Brian Courtney Wilson

This album was actually released on June 2, but I introduce to you Brian Courtney Wilson. Wilson's first single "All I Need" is climbing the charts. The song talks about praying to God and asking Him for peace. Wilson's voice sounds a little old school and that is what gives him such a unique sound. The cd would probably be categorized as contemporary gospel with its R&B and Jazz flavors.

William McDowell - As We Worship

"As We Worship" is a recent release from William McDowell. This is a powerful two-disc worship cd. This cd has been deemed as a must have for worship leaders and worshippers. The album was recorded live in 2007 and it is amazing.

Sneak a Piece of PIE

Here's a peek at a few albums that are scheduled to release on July 14:

Coko Clemons- Winner In Me
- To hear the single "Wait" featuring Youthful Praise
-This new cd will feature artists like Israel Houghton, Canton Jones & SWV

Claude Deuce -The Young Elder
-It Ain't Over video
-Claude has written/produced for Izzy, Canton Jones, Deitrick Haddon and Sean Simmonds. This new release should be pretty good.

Dr. Jeff Jacobs - He's Just Alright
-He's Alright video
-I'm looking forward to this one. It seems like it's going to pretty churchy but not too traditional. I believe that it will be just right, but we will see.

Coco McMillan - I've Been Delivered
-Use Me video
-Another Coco, who is using her voice to ring out God's praises. This lady definitely has a voice.
